New Release! For those of you not familiar with the Golden Russet, this is an early American apple that traces its roots to the 18th century. Officially recognized by 1845, it's prized as a cider apple with natural sugar that gives an alcohol content over 8%. Our cider is fermented completely dry using the apples' natural yeast with NOTHING added. No sugar to boost the alcohol yield, no other apple varietals blended in, and no sulfites as a preservative. Just pure, unadulterated Golden Russet flavor. This is by far one of the cleanest apple ciders we've ever tasted, bulk-aged for over a year and presenting itself more like a full-bodied white wine than a traditional cider.

Interested in taking a sip through time?  Blackledge Winery isn’t open to the public, but for this private tasting event we’re pouring Eliza Smith’s 1728 English cider, the Penn family’s 1674 cider, plus there will be cellar samples of 18th century recipe wine and mead that’ll only be available to taste that night.  All of these liquid libations have no added sulfites, and are made under license using only traditional/historical methods relevent to the recipes being researched and tested at Blackledge.  If you want a taste of history, you won’t be disappointed!  There are two seatings in the Rasthskeller, one at 5:30pm and one at 7:30pm, and are limited to twenty people per seating.  Cost is $25 per person and includes light fare from the Tavern at the Sun Inn.  Call 610 419 8600 to make reservations.

Blackledge will be at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Allentown, PA for the kick off of Cocktail Week and the Lehigh Valley Libation Celebration. We've completely sold out of our first batch of our "Fisher's 58" ginger cider, and that leads us to this: Our new release of "Fisher's 58", complete with a new label and a better drinking blend of ginger and cider!

We've taken your feedback and crafted this batch to be slightly less of a kick in the ass. Yes, that first batch was strong, so strong that it made Vikings cry.

This is a traditional ginger cider that although completely dry, gets its sweetness from fresh ginger root during fermentation. It's dry, still and unfiltered with no sulfites added at any point in the fermentation or bottling process.

Blackledge will be releasing its first vintage of "Penn's 74" - a faithful reproduction of William Penn's wife Gulielma's family cider recipe taken from her 1674 recipe book. Like our other ciders, it's made using early Pennsylvania heirloom cider apples and the region's natural yeast.

The official release date of "Penn's 74" will be on Saturday, June 18th at Pennsbury Manor as part of their "Brews & Bites" event. For tickets please call 215 946 0400.

Also starting on June 18th Blackledge will begin shipping it's ciders and wines nationwide via FedEx through this website. Shipping will be available for order quantities of six bottles and must be shipped to a business address to ensure an adult signature at delivery.
